Ellis Island Hard Hat Tour

This 90-minute guided tour of the Ellis Island Hospital Complex, which takes you through select buildings and grounds of the hospital.

Michael Graves Residence, Princeton
(Session 1)

The home and studio of Michael Graves, “The Warehouse,” in Princeton, New Jersey, was donated to Kean University to be used by the MGC. Graves used the space as a residence and art studio, but he also treated the house as a museum and gathering place for seminars and salons. The Warehouse is a microcosm of Graves’ design ethos: a postmodern (with a nod toward classicism), holistic treatment of interior and exterior spaces.

Theatre Behind The Scenes, Kean Union

Visit the costume shop, costume storage, scene shop, lighting / make up lab, and the Theatre Conservatory's two black box theaters. Learn some more about what goes on behind the scenes in theaters, film, and TV studios and get inspired to learn more about entertainment design with an elective course in theatre design!

Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), NYC

Hailed as one of the best museums of modern art and design in the world, MoMA's curated tour will include several current exhibits as well as a focus on the architecture of the building.

Newark Museum

The Newark Museum of Art holds major collections of American art, decorative arts, contemporary art, and the arts of Asia, Africa, the Americas, and the ancient world. Our tour will focus on the design and decorative arts collection and the newly restored and reinterpreted Ballantine House.

The Architect's Newspaper was founded in 2003 in New York City. Today, the independent publication provides journalism, criticism, and more about architecture from around the world. Tour the offices and studios of the paper and learn about the role that designers play in the publication.

Take a guided first-floor tour with one of our knowledgeable museum educators and hear the fascinating stories and legends that make Liberty Hall one of New Jersey’s most treasured historic homes. You may also explore the exquisite arboretum and gardens highlighting an artistic array of historical horticulture, including some of New Jersey’s oldest trees.
